Lisa Coscia PTA, CYI
Lisa Coscia is a licensed PTA with extensive experience in treating orthopedic issues. She finds great reward in guiding patients to regain mobility and return to their activities. She has worked for over a decade in Outpatient Physical Therapy, and for a short time in inpatient as part of a delirium prevention program developed at Yale and administered at Morristown Medical Center. She is a Certified Yoga instructor, and Reiki practitioner.
Lisa uses a unique blend of therapeutic yogic stretches, breathing techniques, energy work, and yoga philosophy in her patient treatments. She believes in a holistic approach to health and recovery. For the past five years she has been part of an interdisciplinary team navigating patients toward their best outcomes.
She and is very pleased to be part of the dedicated team of medical professionals at Maxim, who have a proven record of putting patient care first.She is committed to ongoing self-education, and is trained in McKenzie lumbar and cervical treatment, Graston IASTM, Kinesio taping I and II, myofascial release, cupping, vestibular rehabilitation, Chair Yoga, as well as various breath work. She was fortunate to study in NYC with Leslie Kaminoff, author of The Anatomy of Yoga. She has been a movement educator since her teenage years, teaching gymnastics, fitness classes, and developing sports specific yoga programs for baseball and softball leagues, golfers, and recreation groups.
Prior to physical therapy, Lisa had a career in the corporate and non-profit arenas, managing Educational Services and developing educational programs for corporations and community groups. She blends her interest in education with physical therapy, ensuring that patients are educated, informed, and invested in their most successful outcome.
At home she enjoys time with her family, cooking traditional Sunday dinners, live music with friends, taking a challenging yoga class, kayaking, walking the dogs, and learning all she can about holistic therapies.
